Rain boots. Wellingtons. Wellies. Galoshes. Rubbers.
So many names for a pair of footwear. Me personally, I love them. I wasn't able to take a picture of mine today since my mom cleaned today, and she doesn't like it when I tromp around in them to my picture area, but I wore a blue cardigan, white skirt, black over-the-knee socks, and my polka dot rain boots. I had first fallen in love with rain boots when I used to get this magazine called Justine. They did a photo shoot with a girl wearing all different kinds of rain boots and spring dresses. It was a beautiful photo shoot, and I wanted rain boots then. At the time, rain boots weren't as popular, and they were quite expensive.
I finally got my chance at Tractor Supply where they were selling them for $20. It was my lucky day. Rain boots and I didn't have a hole in my wallet.
Now, fashion wise, rain boots are tricky. They're easy to go over the pants, but with dresses and skirts, it's a different story. They're bulky and difficult to walk in, so they're not a comfort shoe. It's also very difficult to look up fashion ideas off the internet since not very many photo shoots or celebrities focus on rain boots. Though, what little resources I have come upon, over-the-knee socks are one of the best ways to make rain boots fashionable with skirts and dresses.
So, just remember, when the rainy days and Mondays get YOU down (oh, the Carpenters, <3), pull out those ol' trusty boots and just jump around in every puddle you see and finally enjoy the rain without getting your shoes wet.
And I couldn't resist, I can't do a rain boot blog without my song that goes along with it. : )
