Mom's black and white flower top, Goodwill necklace, Forever 21 black skirt, George yellow purse, Charles Davis black heels
Oh, my goodness it felt so GOOD to dress up! I felt like I lost my touch, to be honest.
What with my job and play practice, the only time I ever get to dress up is when I go to church on Sunday. So what's a girl to do when you have a busy schedule and a dress code at work? Lose the touch of fashion? It's possible, I know.
The thing is: practice. Practice makes perfect, even in fashion. Go in your closet and dress up, even if it's just for you. Create an outfit or two and lay it for later. I usually dress up Doris a few times until I'm satisfied with an outfit that she can wear for a week or so.
Another thing to do is get online and create outfits there as well. Polyvore has been a God send for me; I get to play with outfits and make them any way I want. Pinterest and Tumblr are also good sites to just look up outfits to pass time. Don't lose that touch! It's hard to gain back, believe me! An outfit is like blank canvas and the artist has to make it pop. If an artist quits painting for a while, they lose their touch and have to feel their way back if they wander back into painting. Same with fashion.
